Do the data centers out-drink golf?

Question

In one corner: every data center in America. In the other: America's golf courses. Which one drinks more water in a year?

Accepted Answer

Golf — it isn't close. US data centers directly consume roughly 3% of what golf courses pour on the grass. The honest asterisk: golf's thirst is flat, and the machines' is compounding fast. (68% of Americans answer "Data centers" — floor est.)
